Been carrying this case everyday The edges are starting to fray The contents cosmetic, have nothing to say But you’re not gonna throw it away We warm our toes on the beach Nothing around us but aquamarine And defying all reason you get up to leave I’ll leave it to you to know what you need You can call me wrong, you can call me right You can call me anytime you like There’s a life lived on the run When you’re a Jack of all trades man But a master of one Images flash on a screen Kaleidoscope smiles and Cellophane dreams A life in reverse, you can paint what you mean Reality is never as it seems And there is a passage that reads The bite by the poison’s the nicest to eat So I understand when you get up to leave I’ll leave it to you to know what you need You can call me wrong, you can call me right You can call me anytime you like There’s a life lived on the run When you’re a Jack of all trades man But a master of one You can call me wrong, you can call me right You can call me anytime you like There’s a life lived on the run When you’re a Jack of all trades man But a master of one When you’re a Jack of all trades man But a master of one When you’re a Jack of all trades man But a master of one

Santa Maria 04:25
Santa Maria don’t let me down I’ve not walked for miles to fail in this town My bones are aching as I kneel on the ground Santa Maria don’t let me down In San Pedro Sula, the streets have no soul They peppered my walls with 10 bullet holes But i know that no one has a heart made of stone Santa Maria, don't send me back home I started with strangers, now brothers in blood We passed through the rainstorms, heat and the mud My baby's gone quiet which scares me the most I pray to you Mary, Father, Son and the Ghost Santa Maria, give me the strength So that my daughter has someone to thank For knowing the home of the free and the brave I'm begging you Mary, I’m calling your name My bones are aching as I kneel on the ground Santa Maria, don't let me down Santa Maria, don't let me down

The Bottom 03:12
Every morning there’s a million little pieces Laid out where you fell asleep Every moment takes a little bit more coaxing To get you back up on your feet Well I’ll meet you back down At the bottom And I’ll bring all the help that I can I’ll meet you down at the bottom my friend Watch it trickle down into a little puddle From a trouble that will drip until it’s done A puddle we can muddle through or even walk around The trick is wading through the ocean it becomes And I’ll meet you back down At the bottom And I’ll bring all the help that I can I’ll meet you down at the bottom my friend Soon as we give this thing a name I will be lacing up my skates Soon as we give this thing a name From here on out it’s icy lakes Now you’re on this road there’s only two ways you can go The first, walk down with dignity, head clear Otherwise you can be dragged down it Digging in your heels But down it you must go my dear Well I’ll meet you back down At the bottom And I’ll bring all the help that I can I’ll meet you down at the bottom my friend Said I’ll meet you back down At the bottom And I’ll bring all the help that I can I’ll meet you down at the bottom my friend At the bottom my friend At the bottom my friend

Looking left to right Seems too good to be true This leash was on too tight A little leeway’s long overdue All they understand Are the backs of their own hands Fashionably wrought Not a sole original thought Now the party’s over Pour a quiet drink If you can taste tomorrow Who cares what they think What they think Living like a priest Mischief at an arm’s reach Keep that head on straight Count the hours ‘til you break free Mix with liquid silver It’s broken by design The future is in colour leave those Silent pictures behind Now the party’s over Pour a quiet drink If you can taste tomorrow Who cares what they think What they think Looking left to right Seems too good to be true This leash was on too tight A little leeway’s long overdue Overdue Overdue

We could be this open all the time Laying on a major fault line With the fragile shape of life On our minds, on our minds Must we wait until the aircraft shakes Looking down over the city, the icy lake When ‘later’ is a luxury We’d all take, we’d all take Each day a little more removed From the belly of the Bardo and its simple truths Somehow feeling free while feeling guilty too Just let it dim we’ll find light from within Try and let it be a gift Silence can make these sounds more vivid Because every other way to look at it Will pull you down, pull you down A pause that makes our movements clear An end that makes the now more near When what matters most has just disappeared There nothing to left to lose There’s nothing to fear Each day a little more removed From the belly of the Bardo and its simple truths Somehow feeling fooled while feeling lucky too Just let it dim we’ll find light from within

When the dusk doesn’t feel like it used to Ever door ajar with possibility Every bar another chance to meet a girl Have a dance, spend the night Where the rent’s always free When the lights turn from neon to dayglo And the taxis all drive back to Queens When you measure the cost of the years you have lost Being tied down to some kind of dream Well hey, It’s not just you I miss the mystery too Buyer beware This is The Angels’ Share When your demons begin to grow restless And coo in your ear what is due You measure the past from the end of a glass While the weight of each moment accrues Well hey, It’s not just you I miss the mystery too Buyer beware This is The Angels’ Share It’s not just you I miss the mystery too Buyer beware This is The Angels’ Share And oh I’m just like you I can be dangerous too Buyer beware This is The Angels’ Share

Josephine 03:45
Tell me all your wants Tell me all your needs Show me where it hurts you Point to where it bleeds And I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try To nurse all of your needs But if you don’t let me fix myself I’m not gonna be of too much help you see Josephine, Josephine It was a 3 alarm fire I barely got away clean and I don’t wanna play the victim but I’m still soaking in kerosene And I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try To give you all of me But if you don’t let me fix myself You might as well be with someone else Josephine, Josephine ooh, ooh Maybe I’m a broken record But you’re a cheap cd I keep on spinning the same song But you’re becoming obsolete Still I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try But I feel asleep But if you don’t let me fix myself I’m no better than the ragdoll on your shelf you see Josephine Said if you don’t let me fix myself You might as well be with someone else you see Josephine Said if you don’t let me fix myself I’m not gonna be of too much help you see Josephine ooh, ooh

Devil Winds 03:54
The Santa Ana winds are coming round again And I can hardly get home fast enough The shape that I am in, I surely need a friend And you’re the only one I’m thinking of Strange it begins a tickle on the skin Before it drives a desert raving mad Baricade the thought, mercy from within, Don’t let it be the only one you have Oh these fires are burning Like old San Gabriel’s hills These flames they’re not discerning They’ll take the innocent Breathe in breathe out the yellow in the air Before the experts even call it’s name Powerless we wait, a wooden garden gate Stands no change against the hurricane Some they even claim it’s all a source for good A purifying quench of thrilling thirst So maybe you could say once havoc had it’s way To know the cleanse, you had to know the ills first And oh these fires are burning Like old San Gabriel’s hills These flames they’re not discerning They’ll take the innocent But you and I We dive in to the ocean Polish our sins You tell me I’m wild like those Devil Winds The Santa Ana winds are coming round again And I can hardly get home fast enough The shape that I am in I surely need a friend And you’re the only one I’m thinking of And you’re the only one I’m thinking of

By The Sea 03:43
Let’s take another ride, let’s drive, let’s go Let’s take another route this ones too slow Feeling we’ve been cooped up far too long Feeling that itch feeling ready to roam Feeling ready to call some new place home New place home We can wage a war on this wasteful time Youth if full of fight but she’s not on our side What the hell are we still doing here Staring at the wall drinking too many beers Waiting for the light to disappear Disappear Let’s take another chance on the winds of change If this is all there is why not grab it by the reins Standing here waiting for our luck to roll in Is saying we aint got what it takes to win Its time to count our chips and cash them in Cash ‘em in Thinking of a bench in Cefalu Second from the left with a postcard view You carved in our initials with a hotel key Squinted at the sun and you smiled at me Know we'll always have a place by the sea By The Sea We tell ourselves stories in order to live We agree to give and to give to give Clamour for objects to own Collect them ‘til we grow old But all we need is just you and me So no matter where we are We have a home We have a home

A two-story house On a quiet street A job with a suit and a tie Saving our pay for some rainy day Cause you cant take it with you but lord knows we try Craning our necks for life's small regrets Did we get our piece of the pie Toil away all the livelong day Cause you can’t take it with you but lord knows we try And if we only see what we need It’ll never be enough Cause all you can hold on the day you go is love, love, love If you keep me laughing til some ripe old age If i carry on by your side We’d have to say that we did it right Cause you can’t take it with you but lord knows we try Cause you, can’t take it with you but lord knows we try

about

Recorded live at Urchin Studios in London in the Winter of 2019, The Party's Over is an album about hitting a wall; coping with life's physical and mental struggles when it seems as though things can't possibly get any harder. Drawn from close encounters with anxiety, depression and grief, the album tackles these themes through a hopeful lens, often from the perspective of someone who has already made it to the other side.

The album's genre stretches Americana out to all it's corners, featuring shades of Country, Folk, Roots, and Blues.
